Latest Trends in Airline Baggage Labels

Airline labels not just helps in identifying a baggage or in cautioning about the fragility of a baggage, but are also a form of advertising for the airlines company. A suitcase is assumed to be carried around the world, and the tiny labels stuck on them speak volume about the airline as a brand.

Laminated Self-adhesive labels for luster and durability

Laminated labels have polished look and are of highest quality. This is one of the latest trends in airline baggage labels that no airline brands can miss. In lamination, a clear film is applied to the label material. This is what makes in lustrous. Laminated labels are tear-proof and moisture resistant. Thus they become more durable. A laminated label looks any time better than the non-laminated ones.

Thermal Direct Printing and its applications

Thermal Direct Printing is a form of printing that makes use of chemically treated substrate and applies heat (thermal energy) to it for printing something. The chemically treated substrate is called thermal paper. When the paper is fed into the thermal printer and heat is applied to different areas, those areas turn black to produce an image. Thermal direct printing is the only form of printing that involves no ink or toner.

Uses of Direct Thermal Printing

Label manufacturers have found direct thermal printing suitable for a variety of printed labels. The simplicity and the affordability of the entire process is what make direct thermal printing ideal for select types of adhesive labels. Direct Thermal Printing does not require any ink or toner. It just needs a thermal paper which is not very expensive as compared to other substrates. The direct thermal printers are also inexpensive by themselves. They are not very big in size and not too complicated either. The typical components of a thermal printer are: a thermal head where heat is applied to the paper, a spring that applies pressure to the thermal head, a platen that feeds the paper and controller boards. Label manufacturers in Mumbai use it to print bar codes, FM CG package labels and simple labels to be used in shipping.

The Machines That Print the Labels

Product manufacturers rarely know and are hardly interested about how the beautiful and attractive printed labels that they ordered actually become a reality. This is not the ideal situation, as doing so the people who need sticker labels do not appreciate the sophisticated technology and expertise that goes into the making of the labels, and neither realizes how much more the machines and the label manufacturers can do. We shall look into a few of the machines that are currently used by JK Labels and what they are capable of doing:

Gallus EM 280

Labels for the Consumer Electronics Industry

The Consumer electronics Industry’s label requirements are vastly different from other industries like the food and wine or the cosmetics industry. In a nutshell, the consumer electronics industry needs a very wide array of the labels serving different purposes and life spans. Factors to look for, when getting labels for electronics products are:

1.   Durability

Since the life span of a consumer electronics product is way longer than a bottle of wine or shampoo, the printed labels need to be far more durable and continue to look as new, even after use of many years. The self adhesive labels thus need to be much stronger yet look attractive and not damage the product itself.

2.   Ease of removal

The labels carrying installation and usage instructions must be easy-to-remove. Thermal logos are ideal for these purposes and can be produced to create a ‘no-label-look’. It is a label produced without any ink and meant for temporary use only.

3.   Security

This is another feature that is very important in a consumer electronics labels. Since counterfeiting is on a high, most companies now look for labels using speciality ink or holograms. The brand logos and product codes are needed to be printed so that they are very clear. Embossed product labels are often used as a method to convey the genuineness of the product too.

Consumer electronics are therefore far more sophisticated than the average printed labels. Printing them would require the services of label manufacturers with experience in this field. One such company is www.jklabels.com. They have a vast experience in this field, having served clients like Tata Sky, Voltas and Videocon.
